Desktop publishing (DTP) is an essential component of localization. Typically, DTP involves text editing, layout design, image processing, and producing final publishable documents. Localization-oriented DTP, however, focuses on redesigning original single-language documents (user manuals, product flyers, newsletters, to name a few) into one or more target languages and producing final versions in those languages.
